Kuwait University Concludes the Kuwait National Game Development Championship (KNGD) with the Participation of 267 Students

The College of Science at Kuwait University, represented by the Department of Computer Science, concluded the Kuwait National Game Development Championship (KNGD), which brought together 267 students from various educational institutions across the State of Kuwait. The championship was organized in collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), the Kuwait Esports Club, and several supporting organizations, with the aim of developing digital skills and fostering innovation in programming and game development.

Acting Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Haider Sayed Jawad Behbehani, emphasized during the closing ceremony that the championship reflects Kuwait University's vision of promoting applied education and aligning its outcomes with the needs of the digital economy. He noted that it also strengthens partnerships with government entities and the private sector, contributing to the preparation of national talent equipped with the technical skills required to compete in the digital landscape. He also commended the efforts of the Department of Computer Science, as well as the sponsors and supporting organizations, for their role in the championship's success.

For her part, the Championship's Academic and Executive Director and faculty member in the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Maha Al-Abduljaleel, stated that the championship successfully transformed an idea into a practical platform for discovering and nurturing talent. She explained that the strategic partnerships enabled the training and development of more than 220 participants from various age groups in the field of game development.

The championship concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the winning teams, participants, sponsors, supporting organizations, and organizers. Alientrix, developed by Sulaiman Al-Mansouri, won first place, while Dungeon the Escape, developed by Mishari Al-Abdulhadi, secured second place. The Kuwait University team earned third place for its project Trust Us.
