Important Links for Emergency Remote Learning Preperations
This page has been created as a general guide for emergency remote learning to facilitate access for university students, faculty members, and staff to the most important electronic services and systems required to continue education and work remotely.
The page includes direct links and brief guidance for several essential services, such as requesting VPN access, activating Moodle accounts, and using Microsoft Teams, in addition to a collection of training videos and answers to frequently asked questions. This ensures quick and easy access to the necessary technical support and services.
The following steps must be completed before resuming studies:
Verify that you know the password for your university email account. Please note that it is the same password used to log in to the university’s systems, such as the registration system.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it through the following website:
https://mspwdreset.ku.edu.kw
Install Microsoft Teams.
You can use the system directly through your browser by visiting:
https://teams.microsoft.com
Alternatively, you can download the application on your mobile phone or personal computer using the official download link.
Then enter your university email address and password to sign in.

Microsoft Teams is a tool that can be used for remote learning, hosting files and content, and conducting online meetings and lectures. It can be used independently or in conjunction with other services such as Blackboard or Google Docs to support distance learning.
What You Can Do with Microsoft Teams
Host and record online meetings and lectures.
Store and organize meeting and lecture files.
Distribute assignments, files, links, and presentations, and collect and grade them (such as documents, presentations, links, assignments, quizzes, and more).
Installation Options
You can use Microsoft Teams directly through your browser by visiting the following link:
https://teams.microsoft.com
Then sign in using your Kuwait University email account (KU email).
You can also download the application to your mobile phone or personal computer using the official download link.

Steps to Activate Microsoft Teams
Verify that you know the password for your university email account. Please note that it is the same password used to log in to the university’s systems, such as the registration system.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it through the following website:
https://mspwdreset.ku.edu.kw
Sign in to Microsoft Teams.
Enter your KU email address and password.
Important Things to Remember
You can use Microsoft Teams together with other services such as Blackboard, Office Documents, Office 365, and Google Docs.
Whether for a course or a committee, always create a dedicated Team for it.
Use Chat for quick meetings or audio/video calls without creating a team (useful for office hours).
You can manually add people to Teams using their KU email address or university ID number.
You can also create a join link or code to share with students in large classes instead of adding them manually. This helps identify who may be having trouble joining Teams.

1. How can the university email be identified?
The university email can be found through the Registration System (Student Information System).
For students admitted after 2022, the university email format is:
S[StudentID]@ku.edu.kw
The password for the university email is the same password used for the registration system.
2. Accessing Teams and Moodle using the university email
First, make sure to open the university email through Outlook or Mail to activate the email account.
Also ensure that you are logging in to Teams and Moodle using the university email, not a personal email address.
3. If the name appears incorrectly in English in Teams or Moodle
You need to contact the Deanship of Admission and Registration and provide a copy of your passport, or follow the approved procedure by the Deanship for submitting requests during the current period.
4. If Teams classes do not appear for students
The student should first verify that the course appears in Moodle, as the instructor may not have activated the Teams class yet.
