9 monthsDr. Habib Issa Bouherour is an Algerian researcher and university academic. He has been a university professor in Algeria since 2000 and has also worked at international and Gulf universities, serving as an associate professor at Qatar University from September 2009 to August 2019, and at Kuwait University from September 2019 to the present. He obtained his PhD in modern Arabic literature and literary theory in 2007, and a university teaching qualification for managing university research in higher studies (HDR) in 2009 from Constantine 1 University in Algeria. He works in the fields of contemporary criticism and literary theory, with his research interests and publications focusing on modern and contemporary poetry, literary theory, literary discourse analysis, and contemporary narratives. He has published over twenty peer-reviewed academic papers and cultural studies (34) from 2002 to 2025 in various academic journals in countries including Britain, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. Dr. Habib has four specialized books with international ISBN registration, which are individually authored works in criticism and literary theory. The first is titled "The Formation of the Critical Position in Adonis and Nizar Qabbani" (2008), the second "Thresholds of Discourse: Studies in Criticism and Literary Theory" (2009), the third "Approaches in Criticism and Literary Theory" (2014), and the fourth "Revelation and Interpretation: Readings in Cultural Criticism" (2018). Dr. Bouherour has taught undergraduate and graduate courses (Master’s and Doctorate) in his specialization, supervised graduation theses and master’s dissertations, and conducted graduate research. He has held various academic administrative positions, including Director of the Master's and Doctorate Program in Arabic Language and Literature at Qatar University and Kuwait University, and Editor-in-Chief of a peer-reviewed academic journal in Algeria. As a recipient of research grants, he led specialized scientific projects, the latest being (2014-2016): a bibliography of peer-reviewed journals and magazines in language, literature, and humanities published in Arabic in Arab and non-Arab countries, among others.
