Dina AlAwadhi is an Assistant Professor in Comparative Literature at Kuwait University. She recently earned her masters and doctorate degree at University College London. She also obtained her bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Kuwait University. Her PhD examines how otherness functions in relation to race, ethnicity, and gender in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is interested in popular culture, genre films, as well as postcolonial and gaze theory. She has published her work in journals including Image/Text and Geopolitics.
