Dr. Khaled Abdullah Al-Bateni is a Professor of Modern and Contemporary History in the Department of History, College of Arts, Kuwait University. He earned his Ph.D. in History from Indiana University Bloomington in 2014, his M.A. from Northern Arizona University in 2009, and his B.A. from Kuwait University in 2002. His research interests focus on U.S.–Gulf relations, specifically the historical role of Christian missionary activity in the Gulf, as well as the impact of American foreign policy on the political, social, and cultural contexts of the Middle East.

Dr. Al-Bateni has held several academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Historical Studies Center, Acting Chair of the History Department during the summer semester , and a member of various academic and cultural committees. He has organized and led numerous international and regional conferences, delivering public lectures and participating in media interviews on historical, political, and cultural topics.
His research interests focus on U.S.–Gulf relations, specifically the historical role of Christian missionary activity in the Gulf, as well as the impact of American foreign policy on the political, social, and cultural contexts of the Middle East.
In teaching, Dr. Al-Bateni has offered a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in American history, modern Arab history, Kuwaiti history, and European history. He has supervised several master’s theses on political and social movements in Kuwait and the Gulf region
