DR ALI SHARAF

Dr. Ali Sharaf
Office Location
4075 College of Arts Building (South)
Assistant Professor

My research focuses on Buddhist moral teachings, with a particular emphasis on Mahāyāna Buddhism and Eastern philosophy, as well as Islamic ethics, Kantian ethics, and broader questions in moral philosophy. I am especially interested in showing how Eastern philosophical traditions can offer alternative perspectives on ethics today. My publications bring together themes in comparative philosophy, ethics, and religious thought, with a consistent focus on how moral ideas connect to human experience in the contemporary world.
