DEES Minor Programs
Minor Programs
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers three minors: Geology, Environmental Sciences, and Petroleum Geology that allow students from a wide range of majors to complement their primary field of study with focused expertise in the Earth and its environments. Each minor pairs foundational scientific knowledge with applied skills relevant to Kuwait and the broader region: the Geology minor builds an understanding of Earth materials, processes, and history; the Environmental Sciences minor addresses pollution, climate change, sustainability, and the management of natural resources; and the Petroleum Geology minor introduces the principles of hydrocarbon systems and exploration central to the energy sector. Together, these programs strengthen students' analytical and problem-solving abilities and broaden their career opportunities across the oil and gas, environmental, energy, research, and education sectors.
