The Acting Dean of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz, announced the completion of the admission application distribution process for Kuwaiti secondary school graduates who met the University's admission requirements during the application period for the 2026–2027 academic year. A total of 8,409 students have been admitted. He affirmed that all applicants who selected all eligible preferences in their admission applications and met the admission requirements for those programs were accepted.

Dr. Aziz explained that this figure does not include students admitted to overseas scholarship programs or to Abdullah Al-Salem University, nor applicants whose equivalent GPA or secondary school average did not meet the minimum admission requirements for the limited-capacity programs they selected. He noted that these students may submit a new application for the second semester during the application period to be announced later by the Deanship of Admission and Registration. He also emphasized that, in accordance with the University Council's decision, no amendments may be made to the academic program choices listed in an admission application after the application deadline has passed.

To ensure transparency in the admission process, Kuwait University has decided to publish the minimum equivalent GPAs and minimum secondary school percentages required for admission to all colleges and academic programs, as shown in the attached Table (1). The numerical code displayed next to each admitted student's name represents the academic program to which the student has been admitted. Students may identify their admitted program by referring to the minimum admission requirements table, where the corresponding code appears alongside each program. Students can also view their admission program through their online admission application or via the Sahel application.

Dr. Aziz further confirmed that admission to all colleges was based solely on the equivalent GPA or secondary school percentage, with no distinction between male and female applicants. The equivalent GPA is calculated using both the student's high school average and the results of the required academic aptitude tests for each college, which students complete prior to university admission.

Admission Confirmation and Course Registration Period

Dr. Fadel Aziz explained that Kuwaiti students graduating from the Unified Secondary Education System and the Religious Institute who applied online, as well as Kuwaiti applicants who submitted their applications through the Admission and Registration Hall, must pay a KD 10 fee through the KNET payment system after the admission results are announced in order to confirm their admission to Kuwait University via the electronic admission system. He noted that these students are not required to visit the Admission and Registration Hall or submit documents in person. However, Kuwaiti graduates of American and British secondary schools are required to visit the Admission and Registration Hall to submit their documents and confirm their admission between August 2 and August 6, 2026, according to appointments that will be communicated via SMS.

Expected Graduates from British Secondary Schools

The Acting Dean of Admission and Registration also stated that Kuwaiti students expected to graduate from British curriculum secondary schools, who submitted their applications electronically within the specified period, must submit their final results to the Deanship of Admission and Registration within two working days of the announcement of their results. Admission will be granted in accordance with the published minimum admission requirements for each college and academic program. He stressed that these students will have equal admission opportunities alongside applicants who completed their documentation during the regular application period.

Registration for Academic Courses

The Deanship of Admission and Registration has scheduled registration for newly admitted students to begin on August 9, 2026. Each student will be assigned an individual registration appointment, which will be sent via SMS to their registered mobile number. Newly admitted students may also check their registration appointments through the University's Student Information System (SIS) portal https://portal.ku.edu.kw/sis

At the conclusion of his statement, Dr. Fadel Aziz expressed his appreciation to the deans of the colleges, the Admission Department team, the staff of the Center of Information Systems, and the Security and Safety Department for their dedication and effective cooperation throughout the admission application period.

He also conveyed the congratulations of Kuwait University President, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, to all newly admitted students and their families, wishing them continued success, excellence, and achievement throughout their university journey.
