Kuwait University, represented by the Sports Activities Administration of the Deanship of Student Affairs, participated with a student delegation in the Asian University Table Tennis Championship, hosted in Kuantan, Malaysia, from September 3 to 11, 2026, alongside universities and educational sports institutions from across Asia.
The University stated that its participation in the championship reflects its commitment to supporting university sports and strengthening the presence of its students at regional and international sporting events, which contributes to developing their talents, enhancing their skills, and instilling values of competition, commitment, and teamwork.
The head of the delegation and Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Salem Al-Shammari, affirmed that the participation aligns with the University's commitment to supporting athletically talented students and providing an environment that enables them to develop their abilities. He noted the importance of international participation in broadening students' experience, strengthening their self-confidence, and representing both Kuwait University and the State of Kuwait with distinction at international sporting events.
Dr. Al-Shammari added that the University places great importance on broadening its students' participation in local, regional, and international championships, thereby strengthening the University's distinguished presence on the international spectrum while supporting its role in nurturing student talent and developing their capabilities across various fields.
Kuwait University was represented in the championship by two teams comprising male and female students. The Sports Activities Administration continues to implement programs aimed at advancing university sports, identifying talented athletes, and preparing students to participate in a wide range of sporting competitions.
