
Professor Jennifer Miskimins, Chair of the Petroleum Engineering Department at the Colorado School of Mines and President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers for 2026, visited the College of Engineering and Petroleum. She was received by Dr. Meshal Al-Gharaib, Acting Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, along with faculty members of the department. A lengthy meeting was held during which she discussed areas of cooperation between the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Petroleum Engineering Department. The visit aimed to explore avenues of collaboration to enhance the university’s reputation and expand bridges of international academic cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy and engineering.
Additionally, she was welcomed by Prof. Khaled Al-Hazaa, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, who expressed his appreciation for her visit and addressed the latest developments in engineering education globally.
At the end of the visit, she toured the College of Engineering and Petroleum facilities, including classrooms and laboratories. She expressed great admiration for the facilities and resources provided to the faculty and students.
