
Prof. Abdullah Jawad Sultan, Vice President for Research at Kuwait University, along with Dr. Abdullatif Abdullah Al-Rashdan, Assistant Vice President for Research Implementation and Funding, welcomed H.E. Mr. Jose Cabrera III, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the State of Kuwait, and his accompanying delegation, which included Mr. Alex Vallespin (Philippine Consul), Mr. Aaron Erick Lozada (Vice Consul), Ms. Jordan Ysabel Morales (Vice Consul), and Ms. Princess Conwi. The visit took place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Research Sector headquarters in Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss matters of mutual interest, explore potential areas of collaboration, and strengthen bilateral relations between Kuwait University and universities in the Republic of the Philippines.
Both parties emphasized the importance of expanding future scientific and cultural cooperation, in addition to exploring opportunities for student exchange, with the goal of fostering cross-cultural understanding, keeping up with the latest academic and scientific developments, and working to enhance and advance them.
On this occasion, Prof. Abdullah Jawad Sultan welcomed the Republic of the Philippines Ambassador, expressing his deep appreciation for the strong and historic ties between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of the Philippines. He affirmed Kuwait University’s commitment to expanding academic and cultural cooperation with countries around the world and to staying abreast of the latest academic advancements and key scientific and research developments.
He further emphasized Kuwait University’s responsibility in supporting research interests and promoting scientific advancement to enhance cooperation between both parties and to support efforts in research, development, and comprehensive growth.
For his part, the Republic of the Philippines Ambassador expressed his great pleasure in collaborating with Kuwait University to advance the academic and research capacities of both institutions.
