In Support of Kuwait University’s Role and Academic and Research Standing The Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs Welcomes Delegation from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom

Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Osama Al-Omair, together with Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Dr. Adel Malallah, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs for Academic Development, Prof. Huda Mahmoud, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Development, Dr. Dalal Al-Tuweel, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Planning, Dr. Meshari Al-Nahidh, Acting Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Osama Al-Yousef, and Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Sheikha Al-Ibrahim, welcomed a delegation from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

The meeting aimed to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two universities and promote the exchange of expertise in higher education, engineering, and institutional development.

Representing the British side were Prof. Karl Dearn, Head of the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham; faculty members Dr. Ali Sadaghiani and Dr. Omid Doustdar; Mr. Stuart Summers, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Kuwait; Mr. Anthony Skinner, Director of the British Council in Kuwait; and Ms. Eman Mahmoud, Project Coordinator at the British Council.

The visit was initiated by Prof. Abdulwahab Al-Musallam from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Dr. Sheikha Al-Ibrahim from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kuwait University. During the meeting, both parties discussed prospects for future cooperation, including the signing of a joint collaboration agreement, student and faculty exchange programs, and joint research projects in the fields of energy and sustainable engineering.

This initiative reaffirms Kuwait University’s commitment to strengthening its academic and research standing through expanding its international partnerships, in support of the University’s vision for innovation and scientific excellence.
