In a new achievement for the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, the Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE-Student Chapter), under the supervision of Prof. Essa Mohammed Al-Safran, has been awarded the SPE Regional Outstanding Student Chapter 2025 for community engagement in the Middle East and North Africa region by the Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE-International).

This prestigious award is granted in recognition of the chapter’s achievements and excellence in community service, as well as its outstanding dedication of time, effort, intellect, and action—distinguishing it from other student chapters.

The SPE Student Chapter expressed its gratitude to Kuwait University and the College of Engineering and Petroleum for their continuous support and encouragement in developing educational, research, and community service activities. The chapter emphasized that receiving this award for outstanding community service is a “great honor” and stands as a testament to the chapter's commitment and dedication to its mission.
