“SheBuilds: Women Innovating Social Solutions for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future”
As part of Kuwait University’s commitment to active participation in regional and international forums concerned with social development and women’s empowerment, the University took part in the Second World Summit on Social Development, hosted in Doha, by presenting a high-level side workshop entitled:
“SheBuilds: Women Innovating Social Solutions for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.”
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Nourah Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Women’s Studies and Research Center at Kuwait University, and organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The session highlighted aspects of social innovation led by women in Kuwait, showcasing real-life stories and experiences of Kuwaiti women who successfully addressed social challenges with creativity and vision, transforming ideas into tangible initiatives that have made a positive impact on individuals and the community.
Dr. Al-Shuaibi also led participants through a ninety-minute interactive experience, representing an intellectual and practical journey from inspiration to innovation. The workshop aimed to empower participants to adopt innovative thinking approaches in addressing social challenges and to introduce practical mechanisms for transforming ideas into applicable and scalable solutions.
Additionally, the workshop focused on idea generation mechanisms, guiding participants from identifying challenges to actively contributing to solution development, while facilitating knowledge exchange on how to replicate and expand pioneering women-led experiences in other communities. This contributes to strengthening social innovation concepts and empowering women as key drivers of development and positive change.
