Students from the College of Architecture at Kuwait University presented their final projects as part of the design studio supervised by Dr. Dalal Qassem. This semester's focus centered on sustainability in urban and architectural design.
The projects aimed to reimagine and redevelop Sabah Al-Salem Charitable Foundation and its surrounding gardens, with the goal of enhancing the environmental and social value of the site. Students integrated sustainable design principles that balance the needs of the community with environmental responsibility.
Project themes varied from proposals that preserve the site's heritage character to innovative solutions that optimize resource efficiency, such as incorporating renewable energy systems, implementing water recycling technologies, and designing green spaces that promote local biodiversity.
The design studio was marked by a creative and academically engaging atmosphere and was attended by several faculty members and architecture enthusiasts. Attendees praised the quality of the proposals and the depth of thought demonstrated in the students' work.
