Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, and in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Nader Al-Jallal, representing His Highness the Prime Minister, and with the honor of attendance by His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University, the 2025 International Summit on AI Horizons was held at the Arab Open University in the State of Kuwait under the theme “Shaping the Future of Sustainability, Education, and Smart Innovations.”
The summit took place from 12 to 13 November 2025, continuing the commitment of Kuwait’s wise leadership—represented by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, may God protect them—in supporting education and scientific research, and in strengthening Kuwait’s position as a regional hub for innovation and knowledge.
At the conclusion of the summit on Thursday, 13 November 2025, the results of the accompanying Student Hackathon were announced. The Computer Engineering Department team from the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University won second place for their innovative artificial intelligence project titled “Memento.”
The project highlights the role of youth in supporting digital transformation and Kuwait Vision 2035.
The winning team consisted of the following students:
Ahmed Al-Shammari, Fahad Al-Enezi, Mohammad Al-Abdullah, Hamad Al-Naqi, and Abdullah Al-Otaibi, and was supervised by the Engineering Training and Alumni Center at the College of Engineering and Petroleum.
