Three Decades of Scientific Excellence in Medical Research In the Presence of the University President, the College of Medicine Concludes Its 30th Annual Scientific Poster Conference

Under the patronage and in the presence of the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, the College of Medicine concluded its 30th Annual Scientific Poster Conference, held over two days at the Health Sciences Center in Jabriya. The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Adnan Taher Abul, deans of the health sciences colleges, associate deans, and a distinguished group of academics, researchers, physicians, and students.
Dr. Heba Al-Hussaini, Acting Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the College of Medicine, stated that the conference represents a significant milestone in the history of scientific research at the College, marking three decades of dedicated contributions to research, medical education, and professional collaboration. She noted that this year’s conference witnessed broad participation, featuring 222 scientific posters, including 173 original research studies and 49 case reports, reflecting both the quality and diversity of research within the academic community.
Dr. Al-Hussaini emphasized that progress in medical sciences is founded upon collaboration and the exchange of expertise across disciplines. She called for the continued promotion of dialogue and scientific partnerships to achieve a sustainable and positive impact on patients and society.
She concluded by expressing her appreciation to Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem for her patronage and continued support of academic excellence, and to Prof. Adnan Taher Abul, Dean of the College of Medicine, for his leadership in advancing medical research and education. She also extended thanks to the deans and associate deans of the Health Sciences Center colleges, representatives of the Ministry of Health, Dasman Diabetes Institute, Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, and other partner institutions for their valuable contributions.
This year’s conference also featured Prof. Hilmar Bading from Heidelberg University as the keynote speaker. He presented his distinguished expertise and achievements in neuroscience and biomedical research. In parallel with the scientific program, the third Scientific Art Competition—integrating art and science—was held, underscoring the role of visual creativity in communicating scientific ideas and inspiring the community. Additionally, a heritage exhibition was organized in celebration of Kuwait’s national holiday season.
