
The Women’s Studies and Research Center at Kuwait University has launched its new strategy aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035. This took place during a press conference held on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Kuwait Airways Hall at the College of Social Sciences. The conference was presented by Dr. Nourah Al-Shuaibi, Head of the Women’s Studies and Research Center at Kuwait University, in the presence of the Acting Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Prof. Ali Al-Zuabi, along with several faculty members.
The conference aimed to highlight the efforts made to enhance the role of women in Kuwaiti society and to review the new plans and strategies supporting women’s issues.
During his speech, the Acting Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Prof. Ali Al-Zuabi, emphasized that the Center, established in 2010, prepared its strategy for the years 2025 and 2026 based on two fundamental documents: the speeches of His Highness the Amir and Kuwait Vision 2035. He added that the new strategy includes a range of initiatives, training programs, seminars, and policies to be implemented in the upcoming period. He stressed the importance of partnership between men and women in achieving community development and underscored that development can only be realized through the cooperation of all members of society. The Center, through its programs and activities, aims to raise societal awareness regarding the developmental role of women.
For her part, Dr. Nourah Al-Shuaibi, Head of the Women’s Studies and Research Center at Kuwait University, stated that the launch of the new strategy represents an important step in establishing the foundational pillars, activities, and seminars that will commence starting September 2025. The strategy aims to empower both female and male students and staff, supporting their academic and professional progress within and beyond the university.
This launch reflects the commitment of the Women’s Studies and Research Center at Kuwait University to supporting women’s issues and enhancing their role as a key partner in national development, in line with the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035.
