Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, President of Kuwait University, chaired the university’s second Council meeting No. (02/2025), held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in the University Council Meeting Room at Sabah Al-Salem University City, in the presence of Council members.
At the outset, the President welcomed the attendees and opened the session to discuss several agenda items.
The Council ratified the minutes of the previous meeting No. (01/2025), held on March 19, 2025.
Following the meeting, Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Dr. Bader Ahmad Al-Jasser Al-Rajhi, stated that the Council approved the proposal for the amended financial regulations concerning scholarship teaching assistants at Kuwait University, in alignment with those applied at Abdullah Al-Salem University.
The Council also approved the university’s admission policy for the academic year 2025/2026 and the academic calendar for all colleges for the next three academic years: 2025/2026, 2026/2027, and 2027/2028.
Dr. Al-Rajhi noted that the Council approved a proposal from the Faculty of Pharmacy to include the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences qualification in student graduation transcripts.
Additionally, the Council approved proposals from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences to establish two new academic programs: Radiation Therapy and Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology.
The Council also endorsed the academic accreditation proposal for all programs offered by the College of Education, and granted academic accreditation for four academic programs at the College of Life Sciences.
