
Prof. Al-Mailem: The College of Law Building Features an Innovative Design that Meets the Highest Global Standards, with Components That Enhance the Educational Environment for All Students, Including Those with Disabilities
As part of Kuwait University’s commitment to implementing the transition plan to the Sabah Al-Salem University City project and completing the occupation and operation of all it's buildings, University President Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem conducted an inspection visit to the north and south buildings of the College of Law to assess the college’s readiness to receive students at the start of the upcoming academic year. She was accompanied by a delegation that included Acting Secretary-General of the University Dr. Bader Ahmed Al-Jasser Al-Rajhi, Vice President for Planning Prof. Osamah Ali Al-Omair, Acting Vice President for Academic Support Services Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Mulla, Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning Dr. Majed Abdulrazzaq Majeed, Acting Dean of the College of Law Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Radwan, and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Graduate Studies Dr. Mohammed Al-Tamimi.
On this occasion, Prof. Al-Mailem explained that the visit is a continuation of previous visits by the university administration to all completed projects, aimed at ensuring the readiness of the buildings to welcome faculty members, students, and staff at the start of the first semester. She noted that the college buildings feature an innovative design that complies with the highest global standards and includes components that enhance the educational environment for all students, including students with disabilities. The tour included visits to several classrooms, the auditorium, a mock courtroom, and learning spaces equipped with facilities that promote effective learning and comfort for all, including those with special needs, as well as the dining hall.
It is worth noting that the total built-up area of the south building of the College of Law at Sabah Al-Salem University City is 35,294 square meters, spread across six floors and two basements. The building includes a 246-seat auditorium, 28 classrooms with a total capacity of 2,025 seats, a mock courtroom with 238 seats, a library with 164 seats, 181 offices for faculty and staff, 7 prayer rooms, a cafeteria with 402 seats, and a central kitchen.
As for the north building, it covers a total area of 20,679 square meters, also spread across six floors and two basements. It includes 15 classrooms with a capacity of 1,150 seats, a mock courtroom with 120 seats, a library with 120 seats, 106 offices for faculty and staff, 8 prayer rooms, and a cafeteria with a capacity of 180 seats.
At the conclusion of the visit, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem expressed her gratitude to those involved in preparing the college, wishing everyone continued success and a smooth transition process.
