The College of Public Health at Kuwait University organized its Second Semi-Annual Forum for the College's students and graduates in the presence of the Acting Dean of the College, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khams, with the participation of the Acting Director of the Kuwait Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Dr. Mohammed Behbehani, Health Inspector at the Center, Hawraa Safar, as well as a number of faculty members and students.

In his remarks, Dr. Al-Khamis expressed his pride in the College's collaboration with the Kuwait Center for Disease Prevention and Control, emphasizing the College's commitment to preparing qualified national professionals capable of contributing to the advancement of the healthcare sector through academic and training programs that address the actual needs of the labor market and the country's regulatory and preventive health systems.

He added that the College continues to develop its curricula and academic programs in ways that enhance the quality of its graduates and strengthen their contribution to supporting health security in Kuwait.

For his part, Dr. Behbehani stated that the Kuwait Center for Disease Prevention and Control represents a strategic step toward strengthening Kuwait's public health system through preparedness for public health emergencies, coordinating response and recovery efforts, and supporting decision-makers with scientific evidence and expert advice to develop sustainable health policies and programs. He also outlined the Center's responsibilities and emphasized its need for graduates of the College of Public Health, as well as graduates from other relevant disciplines, whose qualifications align with the nature of the Center's responsibilities.

The forum concluded with an open discussion between faculty members, students, and representatives of the Center on the Center's functions and responsibilities, as well as career opportunities in the field of public health.
