Faculty of Dentistry Participates with Its Faculty Members and Graduates in the Annual Meeting of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR)

The Kuwait Section of the International Association for Dental Research (KuADR) participated in the Annual Meeting of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), which was recently concluded in Barcelona, Spain.


Representing Kuwait Section was Dr. Fatimah Al-Kazemi, Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dental Practice at the Faculty of Dentistry – Kuwait University, who noted that the conference featured a notable participation by the College’s faculty members. They engaged in scientific discussions on the latest developments in dental, oral, and craniofacial research, as well as strategic initiatives, global research trends, and collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing the impact of scientific discoveries across the dental research community.


The conference also witnessed the participation of graduates from the 2023/2024 academic year class—Dr. Maryam Safar, Dr. Maha Al-Sane, Dr. Yousef Al-Hassan, and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Osaimi—who were recipients of the Hatton Award – Student Category – for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research last year. They represented the State of Kuwait at this year’s annual meeting by presenting their scientific posters and research projects to researchers and dental professionals from around the world, showcasing the high caliber of student research in Kuwait and its continuous advancement.


On another note, the IADR Annual Meeting also featured the presence of Kuwait University on the Research and Awards Review Committee for postgraduate students in Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research. The University was represented by Dr. Fawaz Al-Zaabi, Associate Professor in the Department of General Dental Practice at the Faculty of Dentistry, as the first member from the Middle East and North Africa region to serve on the committee for the 2022–2025 term, reflecting the distinguished international presence of the Faculty’s academic staff in global scientific forums, reaffirming their high academic standing and esteemed reputation, which is positively evident in the quality of the Faculty’s outcomes.
