The College of Business Administration at Kuwait University extended its congratulations to Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shalfan of the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management on receiving the Best Presentation Award at the 2025 Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) Conference, held from 26 to 28 November 2025.
In this context, Dr. Al-Shalfan delivered a research presentation entitled “Reputation, Pressure, and Invisible Work: Understanding Unpaid Labor on Digital Work Platforms,” in which he examined the operational structures of digital labor platforms, coordination mechanisms among stakeholders, and the pressures generated by reputation systems. The study highlighted how these dynamics impose forms of unpaid work that affect operational efficiency and the sustainability of performance.
POMS Africa 2025 is an international scholarly forum dedicated to advancing production and operations management. It brings together leading researchers and experts to discuss emerging practices and challenges across the African continent. The conference was held at the Future Africa Campus, University of Pretoria, South Africa, with the aim of promoting scientific research and fostering the exchange of expertise in management and sustainable innovation.
