On May 12, 2025, the College of Engineering and Petroleum launched the training and qualification program in engineering contract management, upon the request of the Ministry of Public Works and implemented by the Office of the Vice Dean for Planning, Consulting, and Training. The program witnessed strong participation from the Ministry's engineers across various engineering disciplines, reflecting their interest in specializing as engineering contract managers and engineers.
The program runs for seven weeks, from May 12 to July 3, 2025. It covers the documentation cycle of a development project across its phases: the pre-design phase, the design phase, the tendering and awarding phase, the implementation phase, and the post-implementation phase.
The program also includes field visits to several major development projects currently underway in Kuwait. A number of trainers, lecturers, and public entities contribute to the delivery of the lectures and training sessions under the supervision of Dr. Hashem Al-Tabtabaei, a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Kuwait University. The program concludes with an exam that qualifies trainees to work as certified contract engineers by the College of Engineering and Petroleum.
