
The College of Graduate Studies Holds Its Sixth Council Meeting for the Academic Year 2024–2025
A Number of Key Items Were Discussed:
Discussion of a proposal to amend the credit hours for the course Ethics and Professionalism 503-2000, offered by The College of Graduate Studies, to increase it from 2 to 3 credit hours.
Discussion of proposed amendments to the graduation plan for the Master of Science in Food Quality and Safety in the field of Life Sciences.
The College of Graduate Studies held its sixth council meeting for the academic year 2024–2025. The meeting was attended by Acting Dean of The College of Graduate Studies, Prof. Ahmad Al-Mekhyal; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Meshari Al-Eifan; Acting Vice Dean for Planning and Development, Dr. Mohammad Raef Al-Samawi; along with heads of academic departments from various colleges. The meeting took place in the University Council Meeting Room at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The session began with the approval of the report of the previous meeting held on April 21, 2025, followed by a review of the implementation progress of previous decisions. The council then discussed a number of items listed on the agenda, most notably memos from the Academic Affairs Department, including:
A memo regarding the proposal to change the credit hours for Ethics and Professionalism 503-2000 to 3 credits instead of 2.
A memo regarding revisions to the graduation plan of the Master of Science in Food Quality and Safety under the Life Sciences field.
A memo about proposed changes to the Master of Science in Computer Science under the Sciences field.
A memo about coding of courses in the Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology program under the Education field.
A revision memo regarding amendments to the graduation plan for the Master of Arts in History program.
A memo on academic leave policies for PhD students enrolled in full-time programs.
Additionally, the council reviewed a memo from the Planning and Development Department regarding the Annual Report of the Office of Consulting and Training at the College of Graduate Studies for the fiscal year 2024/2025.
