As a first step in preparing graduates with broad knowledge and specialization The Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry welcome their new students

The Faculty of Medicine at the Health Sciences Center of Kuwait University organized an orientation session for its new students, as well as for the new students of the Faculties of Dentistry and Pharmacy for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event took place at the Center’s theater in the Jabriya campus, in the presence of the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Adnan Abul, Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Heba Al-Husseini, the Coordinator of the First-Year Program, Dr. Ali Shuaib, along with staff members from the Academic Guidance and Counseling Offices of the three colleges.

Prof. Adnan Abul, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, congratulated the new students on joining Kuwait University, encouraging them to persevere in their pursuit of knowledge and to demonstrate responsibility and patience, given the rigorous nature of study at the Health Sciences Center. He stressed that great responsibilities await them as future physicians and emphasized Kuwait University’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for education and academic achievement.

Dr. Ali Shuaib, Coordinator of the First-Year Program, gave an overview of the preparatory courses during the first four years, which are shared across the three colleges, in addition to explaining the mechanisms and procedures of examinations. Meanwhile, Fatma Al-Abdulrahman, Acting Head of the Guidance and Counseling Office, outlined Kuwait University’s rules and regulations, including policies related to attendance and absence, among other organizational matters.

The orientation concluded with guided tours for the students at the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy to familiarize them with the facilities, lecture halls, and laboratories at the Center, followed by small-group meetings in each college with the Acting Deans and Assistant Deans to address students’ specific inquiries.
