Graduates of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University Achieve Distinguished Presence at the 8th WPC Youth Energy Forum

A group of graduates from the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University participated in the 8th WPC Youth Energy Forum, organized by the Ministry of Oil in cooperation with the World Petroleum Council on October 22–23, 2025. The event was held in the presence of H.E. Mr. Tareq Sulaiman Al-Roumi, Minister of Oil; H.E. Mr. Haitham Al-Ghais, Secretary General of OPEC; H.E. Sheikh Dr. Nemer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil; Mr. Jassim Al-Shirawi, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum; and Mr. Pedro Miras, President of the World Petroleum Council, along with an elite group of local, regional, and international energy leaders.
The forum brought together executives, experts, and young professionals from over 60 countries in a global event uniting ambitious young minds from around the world. It featured a series of panel discussions on topics including the future of youth in the energy sector, innovation, clean energy, and the role of sustainability in global transformation, providing participants with valuable opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences.
On the first day of the forum, distinguished engineers were honored in recognition of their active participation and their presentation of innovative engineering projects addressing topics related to energy, its importance to the State of Kuwait, and its role in supporting clean energy and achieving sustainability.
The honored graduates included two teams from the College of Engineering and Petroleum:
•    Department of Petroleum Engineering
o    Eng. Fatma Nasser, Eng. Zahra Al-Mutawa, Eng. Karim Harfoush, and Eng. Athari Al-Azmi
o    Under the supervision of Prof. Eisa Al-Safran
o    For their project entitled “Geothermal Energy and Its Role in the Transition Towards Clean Energy.”
•    Department of Chemical Engineering
o    Eng. Reem Al-Babtain, Eng. Dalal Al-Shatti, Eng. Shoug Al-Otaibi, and Eng. Seetah Al-Juraie
o    Under the supervision of Dr. Hameeda Al-Ramadhan
o    For their project entitled “Solar Energy and Its Impact on Achieving Environmental Sustainability.”
This participation reflects the efforts of Kuwait University graduates in highlighting the role of Kuwaiti youth in developing sustainable solutions for the future of energy, under the patronage of national and international leaders committed to empowering young talents.
At the conclusion of their participation, the graduates extended their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Oil for its continuous support and effective coordination with the graduates, represented by Sheikha Tamader Al-Sabah, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, and Eng. Khaled Al-Deiyan, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, for their significant support and contribution to the success of youth participation in this global forum.
Special thanks were also conveyed to Kuwait University and the College of Engineering and Petroleum for their ongoing support and cooperation in facilitating student and graduate participation in local and international forums.
