Kuwait University Advances by Nearly 400 Positions Worldwide in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026

Kuwait University has announced a remarkable advancement in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, which assess universities’ contributions toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The University advanced by nearly 400 positions worldwide, moving into the 401–600 band from its position last year in the 801–1000 band. This accomplishment reflects the growing impact of its academic, research, and community engagement efforts and strengthens its presence among leading global universities in the fields of sustainability and institutional responsibility.

In a statement issued today, the University emphasized that this progress is the result of the continuous efforts of its faculty, staff, and students to align education, scientific research, and community service with the requirements of sustainable development. These efforts have been realized through the development of high-quality initiatives and programs, the strengthening of effective partnerships, and the expansion of the University’s contributions to addressing priority development challenges at both the national and international levels.

The University added that this advancement embodies its commitment to implementing its institutional strategy, which is founded on the pillars of quality, innovation, distinguished presence, and sustainability. It reaffirmed its dedication to further enhancing institutional performance, expanding its scientific and societal impact, and improving its standing in global ranking indicators in support of its national mission and contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
