As part of Kuwait University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its external relations Kuwait University Receives the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the State of Kuwait to Discuss Prospects for Academic and Research Cooperation

Kuwait University President, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the State of Kuwait, Mr. Awad Al-Karim Al-Rayah Balla, on the morning of Tuesday, 2 December 2025, at Sabah Al-Salem University City. The meeting was attended by the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Osama Al-Omair, and the Assistant Vice President for Assessment and Evaluation, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Rafee.
The discussion focused on enhancing academic and research cooperation between Kuwait University and the University of Khartoum, including the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions aimed at facilitating the exchange of scientific and research expertise, developing joint academic programs, and supporting training and professional development opportunities for faculty members and students.
During the meeting, Kuwait University President, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, praised the deep academic and cultural ties between Kuwait and Sudan, affirming the University’s commitment to expanding avenues of collaboration with distinguished Arab and African universities in support of advancing higher education and scientific research in the region.
For his part, Ambassador Awad Al-Karim Al-Rayah Balla expressed his appreciation for Kuwait University and its leading role in supporting Arab education. He emphasized that the University of Khartoum seeks to collaborate with Kuwait University in order to reinforce scientific cooperation between the two institutions and open new horizons for academic exchange.
This meeting comes within Kuwait University’s continuous efforts to strengthen its Arab and international partnerships and to activate cooperation with regional and global universities in alignment with its strategic goals for academic and research excellence.
