Kuwait University organized its Orientation Forum for New Students for the 2026/2027 academic year under the theme “A Conscious Academic Start Toward Excellence.” Held under the patronage of Kuwait University President Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, the forum took place at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City and aimed to prepare students for university life and familiarize them with the regulations and services that support their academic journey.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the forum’s patron, Prof.Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, Acting Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Salem Matroud Al-Shammari conveyed her congratulations to the newly admitted students on their acceptance to Kuwait University. He wished them a university journey filled with enriching experiences and valuable knowledge, expressing hishope that the university would be their first step toward a bright future.
Al-Shammari added that Kuwait University recognizes the importance of providing academic knowledge while also fostering well-rounded and conscious individuals who understand their role and are prepared to fulfill their responsibilities toward their country and society. He emphasized the importance of students’ active participation in university activities and programs, which contributes to developing their skills and building their character.
Al-Shammari explained that the forum marks the beginning of the new students’ journey at Kuwait University and provides an opportunity for them to gain first-hand insight into university life and the opportunities and resources available to them for learning, personal development, and building theirexperience and skills. This will help them embark on this new stage with confidence, ambition, and a clear understanding of university services and regulations, enabling them to make the most of their academic experience.
Al-Shammari affirmed that the University, through its various colleges and sectors, will stand by students throughout their university journey, listening to their aspirations, supporting their ambitions, and providing an environment conducive to success and excellence. He expressed hope that their university years would be rich in knowledge, experiences, and achievements, and serve as the beginning of a future in which they contribute to serving their country and advancing its development.
At the conclusion of his remarks, Al-Shammari expressed his appreciation to Kuwait University President Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem for her continued support, patronage of the forum, and commitment to providing students with an inspiring educational environment. He once again congratulated the students on joining Kuwait University and wished them success throughout their academic journey.
For her part, Acting Head of the Administration of Academic Advising Aisha Al-Maqhawi gave an introductory presentation on the academic journey, how to make use of academic advising services and ways to help new students transition to university life. She also highlighted the importance of equipping students to begin their academic journey on clear and solid foundations that contribute to their success and excellence.
Al-Maqhawi said that the forum marks the beginning of students’ university life, providing them with an overview of university rules and regulations, as well as introducing them to their rights and responsibilities and the services offered by the University from the very first day of their enrollment. This, she noted, contributes to fostering their integration into the university community.
The forum’s activities included training workshops organized by Al-Khwarizmi IT Training Center and the E-Learning Center, aimed at introducing students to the electronic platforms and systems they will use throughout their university studies.
The Administration of Security and Safety also participated by raising students’ awareness of security and safety procedures on campus, while providing newly admitted students with university ID cards during the forum.
