Kuwait University has announced organizing the 9th International Conference on Energy Research and Development to be held from November 17 to 19, 2026, at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City, with the participation of distinguished experts, specialists, and academics from Kuwait and abroad.

The Chairman of the Conference's Higher Organizing Committee, Dr. Osama Al-Yousef, stated that the conference is being organized with the participation of local and international organizations and is supported by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, in collaboration with the College of Engineering and Petroleum. He noted that 50 scientific papers have been peer-reviewed and accepted for presentation at the conference.

Dr. Al-Yousef explained that the conference sessions and workshops will address a number of key themes, including the future of renewable energy and its role in supporting sustainability, the future of energy and the environment, and air conditioning and refrigeration systems, in addition to other topics related to the energy sector.

He added that the conference serves as an international platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise on the key challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector, while showcasing the latest technologies and practical solutions. It aims to achieve a balanced energy mix between conventional and alternative energy sources, support national effort to diversify energy resources, promote innovation, and build a sustainable future for generations to come.
