Kuwait University has concluded the pilot project for the Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise platform through the Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise Go Live Day event, organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Support Services from 13 to 15 July in collaboration with Google Cloud and Deloitte at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Vice President for Academic Support Services, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutawa, on behalf of the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem. In his remarks, Dr. Al-Mutawa stated that the event was organized to empower members of the university community to leverage artificial intelligence technologies in education, professional work, and scientific research within a secure, university-managed institutional environment.
Dr. Al-Mutawa noted that the launch of the Gemini Enterprise pilot project marks a significant milestone in the University's digital transformation journey and its adoption of advanced artificial intelligence technologies. He emphasized that the platform operates within a secure institutional cloud environment protected by the highest standards of cybersecurity and data governance, ensuring the security and privacy of institutional data.
He added that the initiative, implemented in collaboration with Google Cloud and Deloitte, represents a major step forward in the integration of artificial intelligence, which has become a key enabler of decision-making, task execution, and operational efficiency across a wide range of academic and administrative functions.
Dr. Al-Mutawa further highlighted that the initiative reflects Kuwait University's commitment to strengthening partnerships with local and international institutions in order to exchange expertise, adopt international best practices, advance its digital transformation strategy, and establish a unified, secure, and intelligent knowledge platform. Such a platform will support the organization and management of institutional knowledge, enhance academic and administrative efficiency, and improve overall productivity.
Over the course of the three-day event, the initiative attracted broad participation from members of the university community. The first day was dedicated to faculty members, the second to administrative staff and managers, and the third to students. Held at the Cultural Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City, the event provided participants with the opportunity to explore the capabilities of the Gemini Enterprise platform and familiarize themselves with its various applications following the activation of their accounts, enabling them to effectively integrate artificial intelligence technologies into teaching, administrative work, and scientific research.
