A delegation from Kuwait University paid a visit to Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) in Al-Ahmadi area on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to explore ways to enhance joint research cooperation between the two institutions.

This visit comes as a continuation of the coordination related to the main research agreement signed between the two parties in July 2019, which pertains to collaboration in the fields of reservoirs and heavy oil. The agreement aims to achieve strategic objectives in research and development.

The agreement focuses on strengthening research collaboration between Kuwait University and Kuwait Oil Company through technology and knowledge transfer, improving oil production and refining processes, and advancing industrial and technological operations through scientific research, while also engaging the largest possible number of faculty members at the university.

At the outset of the visit, Kuwait University delegation—represented by Dr. Mabkhout Mohammed Al-Dosari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, and Dr. Abdullatif Abdullah Al-Rashdan, Assistant Vice President for Research Funding and Implementation—met with Ms. Amina Rajab, Deputy CEO for Gas and Innovation at Kuwait Oil Company.
Ms. Rajab praised Kuwait University's efforts in promoting productive research collaboration with KOC, and emphasized the importance of intensifying research related to the challenges facing the natural gas sector.

During the meeting, Dr. Mabkhout Al-Dosari affirmed that Kuwait University, under the terms of the agreement, is committed to supporting decision-making processes at the company. This contributes to the development of effective strategies that align with research priorities and scientific advancement, through external partnerships that steer research toward creativity and innovation.

The delegation also met with Mr. Bader Mohammed Al-Ajmi, Manager of the Innovation and Technology Group, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two sides in serving research, development, and comprehensive progress for the benefit of the State of Kuwait.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Rashdan addressed the key administrative, technical, and financial issues facing researchers in projects fully funded by KOC. These matters were discussed, and potential solutions were proposed to further deepen the collaboration between Kuwait University and Kuwait Oil Company.
