Kuwait University, represented by its President Prof. Dina Musaed Al Mailem, received a high-level delegation from Huawei Technologies on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Sabah Al-Salem University City. The meeting aimed to explore avenues of mutual cooperation between the two parties in the fields of digital transformation, smart education, and the development of the University’s technological infrastructure, in order to support innovation and enhance academic and research excellence.
Attending the meeting from Kuwait University were Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutawa, Vice President for Academic Support Services; Dr. Mohammed Najeeb Al-Marzouq, Assistant Vice President for Academic Support Services for Information Technology; and Mr. Mohammed Saud Al-Sulaiman, Director of the Office of the University President and Acting Assistant Secretary-General for Facilities Management Affairs.
The visiting delegation included Mr. Phillip Gan, President of Huawei for the Middle East and Central Asia; Mr. Jeff Zou, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Kuwait; Mr. Frank Fu, General Manager of Enterprise Business at Huawei Kuwait; Ms. Judy Wang, Government Accounts Manager at Huawei Kuwait; and Mr. James Zeng, Director of Enterprise Solutions at Huawei Kuwait.
In her remarks, Prof. Dina Musaed Al Mailem welcomed the Huawei delegation, emphasizing the University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading global technology corporations to keep pace with the rapid developments in digital technologies. She highlighted the University’s goal of adopting innovative and smart solutions that foster an advanced educational and research environment, in alignment with Kuwait’s national vision toward a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.
This visit underscores Kuwait University’s dedication to expanding its collaboration with international leaders in information and communication technology, thereby reinforcing its status as a pioneering national academic institution committed to preparing qualified cadres capable of meeting the demands of digital transformation and contributing to sustainable development in the State of Kuwait.
