In a Major Step Toward Securing Government Systems, Anticipated Collaboration Between Kuwait University and the National Cybersecurity Center

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen Kuwait University’s role through collaboration and knowledge exchange with national institutions, the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, welcomed a delegation from the National Cybersecurity Center. The delegation was led by Sheikh Abdullah Sabah Homoud Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Implementation of the Agreement between the State of Kuwait and Google Cloud, along with Mr. Mohammed Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Executive Committee for Cooperation; Eng. Abeer Al-Awadhi, Head of Cybersecurity at the National Cybersecurity Center; Mr. Abdullah Musaed Al-Qadeeri, Executive Committee Member; Eng. Meshari Fahad Al-Zayed; Mr. Nasser Sayed Hashem, Director of Financial Administration; and Mr. Ezzat Aziz Abu Amara, Director of Operations at Impulse Company.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Bader Ahmad Al-Jasser Al-Rajhi, Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University; Prof. Osama Ali Al-Omair, Vice President for Planning; Prof. Mohammad Al-Mulla, Acting Vice President for Academic Support Services; Dr. Majed Abdulrazzaq Majeed, Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning; Eng. Najwan Al-Yaseen, Head of the Projects Monitoring and Operations Department; and Eng. Batool Al-Sayegh from the same department.


This visit aims to foster collaboration between Kuwait University and the National Cybersecurity Center by exploring the potential establishment of a government cybersecurity center under the “Government Shield” project. The proposed center, to be located in Sabah Al-Salem University City, would be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the use of government digital systems and the nation’s digital transformation, headquartered in Sabah Al-Salem University City .


During the visit, the delegation toured several sites within Sabah Al-Salem University City to identify the most suitable location for the proposed center.


This meeting reflects the commitment of both parties to enhancing integration across state institutions, opening new avenues for joint initiatives, and facilitating knowledge transfer in the fields of cybersecurity and digital technology.
