Under the patronage and presence of the Acting Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Haider Sayed Jawad Behbehani, the College of Science, represented by the Office of the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and the College’s Guidance and Counseling Office, organized the “RISE in Science” event, held from Monday, 24 November to Wednesday, 26 November 2025, during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

In this context, Acting Dean Prof. Haider Behbehani emphasized that the activity, organized by the Office of the Vice Dean for Student Affairs in coordination with the Guidance and Counseling Office and supported by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), coincided with Science Month activities. The event aimed to highlight and present student projects and research for both high school students (12th-grade science track or equivalent) and university students at all levels, fostering a competitive and encouraging environment to expand students’ horizons and strengthen their belief in the importance of scientific research. The activity included a science exhibition in which several external organizations participated.

Alongside the exhibition, scientific workshops were conducted by faculty members from the college’s various academic departments. The event also featured discussion sessions addressing the dangers of drug abuse, addiction recovery, and the role of society in combating this phenomenon, organized and presented by the Kuwait Society for Drug Awareness and Prevention (Ghiras), along with speakers from the Drug Enforcement General Department at the Ministry of Interior and the Addiction Treatment Center at the Ministry of Health. Additionally, a discussion session focused on cancer awareness, early detection, and treatment was held, led by a group of elite physicians from the Kuwait Thoracic Society.
