The Security and Safety Department at Kuwait University organized a health and sports event under the title “Make a Move”, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Sport and the Youth Public Authority, on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the Sabah Al-Salem University City campus. The event was attended by the Director of the Security and Safety Department at Kuwait University, Mr. Youssef Yaqoub Al-Khamees.
The event aimed to promote awareness of the importance of physical activity and its role in improving overall health, as well as to encourage members of the university community to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle. The program included a variety of sports and educational activities that combined both enjoyment and benefit, supervised by specialists in physical fitness and public health. The event was further distinguished by the participation of several institutions and organizations through informational and interactive booths.
In this context, the Director of the Security and Safety Department at Kuwait University, Mr. Youssef Yaqoub Al-Khamees, explained that Kuwait University—represented by the Security and Safety Department—coorganized the Make a Move event, known colloquially in Kuwaiti dialect as “Goum Tiḥarrak”, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Sport and the Youth Public Authority. He stated that the event aims to promote physical activity among youth, combat obesity and inactivity, and encourage the adoption of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. He added that the event featured light activities, sports challenges, and various competitions, which contributed to creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive engagement among members of the university community. It also offered participants an opportunity to step out of their academic and work routines and into a more active and vibrant environment.
Mr. Youssef Yaqoub Al-Khamees noted that the event was held in the passageway between the College of Business Administration and the College of Life Sciences, running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and witnessed a strong turnout and remarkable interaction from participants.
In conclusion, Mr. Youssef Yaqoub Al-Khamees called on all members of the university community to take part in similar activities in the future, emphasizing their importance in enhancing public health and building a more dynamic and collaborative university environment.
