The seminar was delivered by Dr. Hamad Al-Qahtani, in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Saeed, Rapporteur of the Cultural Committee, along with a number of faculty members from the department.
The seminar addressed several key themes, most notably the foundation of the State of Kuwait and the formation of Kuwaiti national identity. It reviewed the accession of the first ruler of Kuwait in 1756, the succession of Kuwait’s rulers, and the emergence of the modern state and its renaissance.
Dr. Al-Qahtani also examined the organizational processes that accompanied Kuwait’s independence and the transition toward structured governmental bodies and institutions. Furthermore, he analyzed the factors that contributed to the independence of the State of Kuwait through several dimensions, including political awareness, the discovery of oil, and the strength of local administration.
The seminar witnessed notable student attendance and active engagement in discussion, where ideas and historical facts were exchanged in an atmosphere reflecting national cohesion and unity.
