President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, stated in her address on the occasion of the University’s 59th anniversary that Kuwait University stands as a proud national institution which, since its establishment in 1966, has played a vital role in developing human capital and embedding the values of knowledge. She emphasized that the University’s distinguished record continues to serve as a cornerstone in developing national talent that has contributed to the country’s progress and growth.
Prof. Al-Mailem highlighted that, over the decades, Kuwait University has consistently refined its academic programs to keep pace with the rapid changes in the labor market, while ensuring the highest standards in its graduates and empowering them with the skills and competitiveness required for future career opportunities. She added that the University continues to strengthen cooperation with national and international institutions and has firmly established itself as a leading research center by fostering scientific research, investing in advanced laboratories and specialized research facilities, and providing an environment conducive to innovation and problem-solving. This approach, she noted, reflects the University’s conviction that scientific research is a strategic responsibility that directly supports Kuwait's priorities and future aspirations, while also enhancing its role in developing human capital through expanded research and academic partnerships.
The University President expressed her profound appreciation for the unwavering support extended to Kuwait University by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him; His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him; and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, may God protect him. She affirmed that this support has played a significant role in enabling the University to sustain its academic and research advancement and fulfill its responsibilities toward society.
Prof. Al-Mailem concluded by reaffirming Kuwait University’s steadfast commitment to its national mission and to advancing higher education, stressing that the University will continue to prepare generations capable of carrying forward the nation’s journey and its aspirations for a prosperous future.
