As part of Kuwait University’s commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at empowering youth and developing their research and technical skills, the College of Science at Kuwait University organized the press conference for the Kuwait National Robotics Championship at Sabah Al-Salem University City, in cooperation with strategic partners from state institutions, including the Public Authority for Youth, and from the private sector, namely Al-Sayer Group, Zain Kuwait, Warba Bank, Kuwait Technical College (Ktech), and Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST). The event was held on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The conference was held under the patronage and in the presence of the Acting Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Haider Behbehani, with the participation of the Chief Executive Officer of the Kuwait National Robotics Championship, Dr. Noura Al-Jerri, and the Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Activities at the Public Authority for Youth, Mr. Ghazi Al-Jallawi, in addition to several representatives of the supporting entities. These included Eng. Ibrahim Al-Fawzan, Vice Chairman of the Sustainability Committee at Al-Sayer Group; Ms. Sara Al-Hubail, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Zain Kuwait; Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Munaifi, Director of Digital Transformation at Warba Bank; Mr. Meshari Boudi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Kuwait Technical College; and Dr. Khaled Al-Baqaain, President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology.
The Acting Dean of the College of Science affirmed that the championship represents an effective step toward linking academic study with practical application, contributing to the creation of a stimulating scientific environment that supports innovation and keeps pace with scientific and technological advancements. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, for her continued interest in supporting innovative youth through national competitions at Kuwait University and across local and international universities. He also commended the University administration’s ongoing support for national initiatives aimed at developing youth capabilities and strengthening cooperation with state institutions.
For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Activities at the Public Authority for Youth explained that the championship aims to discover national talents and develop creative thinking and innovation skills among children and youth. He noted that such competitions provide an integrated, competitive educational platform that strengthens the link between academic education and practical application, while contributing to the development of students’ technical and research skills.
In turn, the Vice Chairman of the Sustainability Committee at Al-Sayer Group affirmed the Group’s continued commitment to supporting the Kuwait National Robotics Championship as a strategic partner, stemming from its belief in the importance of empowering youth through education and technology, developing problem-solving skills, and building self-confidence through effective public–private sector partnerships.
In the same context, representatives from Zain Kuwait and Warba Bank stated that their continued sponsorship of the championship reflects their support for high-quality educational initiatives and youth empowerment in advanced technology, robotics, and innovation. They emphasized that the championship contributes to refining students’ skills and enhancing their abilities in teamwork and analytical thinking.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Kuwait Technical College stressed the importance of educational partnerships in building future skills, while the President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology noted that organizing the championship for the second consecutive year reflects the importance of integration between academic institutions and state entities and embodies a successful model of cooperation in supporting scientific and technological advancement.
