The ninth National  Debate Championship for Universities and Colleges commenced at the American University in Kuwait ( AUK ), with wide participation from various public and private universities. The event witnessed notable attendance that highlighted the importance of promoting a culture of dialogue, research, and analysis among university students. The championship began on the morning of Saturday, 22 November 2025.
In this context, Kuwait University’s team demonstrated a strong performance from the very first day, winning the initial rounds with full points, which placed it among the leading teams at the group stage. The tournament continued for three days filled with effort, creativity, and thorough preparation showcased by Kuwait University’s students, who reaffirmed their abilities in constructing arguments, persuasion, and managing discussions in a competitive and professional environment.
Thanks to this outstanding performance, Kuwait University qualified for the finals of the national championship, securing second place — an achievement that reflects the advanced level reached by the university’s debate teams, as well as the significant support provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Based on this excellence, Kuwait University’s team has been selected to represent the university in the regional championships to be held in the State of Qatar. The Deanship of Student Affairs wished the students continued success and progress, expressing its aspiration for these achievements to continue in future debating championships
