
Prof. Osama Al-Omair, Vice President for Planning and Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kuwait University, received Mr. Liu Xiang, Acting Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the State of Kuwait, along with Mr. Liang Yam Ima, First Secretary for Cultural Affairs, at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
At the outset of the meeting, Professor Al-Omair welcomed the distinguished guest, reaffirming the University’s commitment to establishing agreements across various academic and research fields. He emphasized Kuwait University’s full support for such initiatives and its earnest efforts to translate these into tangible outcomes, while facilitating all aspects related to their implementation.
For his part, Mr. Liu expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and his pleasure in visiting Kuwait University. He conveyed his strong interest in transforming these agreements into practical collaborations across academic and scientific domains. He also highlighted the importance of scholarship exchange programs enabling Chinese students to study Arabic, and underscored the value of fostering joint research partnerships and academic supervision programs that would enhance academic and research performance on both sides.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the importance of developing academic exchange programs, which contribute to building academic and scientific bridges between students and faculty members from both countries.
Also in attendance were Professor Huda Mahmoud, Assistant Vice President for Academic Development, and Dr. Majed Majeed, Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning. The meeting comes within the framework of strengthening academic and cultural relations between Kuwait University and Chinese universities and institutions, reflecting positively on the quality of higher education and scientific research in the State of Kuwait.
