The Acting Dean of the College of Architecture, Dr. Adel Al-Mumen, received Ms. Dhuhouk Al-Banwan, representative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al-Ajmi and Architect Mohammed Khasraw, as part of ongoing review and follow-up of the winning projects for the design of memorial monuments in the Republic of Tunisia.
During the meeting, the two winning projects designed by female students of the College of Architecture were reviewed. The presentation addressed the memorial monument in the capital city of Tunis, designed by alumna Jana Al-Abduljader, in addition to the memorial monument located at the archaeological site in the city of Kerkouane, designed by student Noura Al-Babtain. The discussion highlighted the conceptual design approaches as well as the architectural and symbolic dimensions of each project.
The meeting also addressed the modifications made by the College of Architecture team to the designs and architectural drawings, which were developed within the framework of joint technical coordination with the Tunisian team. Architectural plans and conceptual visualizations were exchanged between both parties to ensure the integration of visions and adherence to the approved site requirements.
This meeting reaffirms the College of Architecture’s commitment to supporting academic excellence and promoting student engagement in architectural projects with cultural and humanitarian significance at the regional level.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Adel Al-Mumen expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Kuwait Fund for its trust and continued support of the students of the College of Architecture and Kuwait University. He also commended the efforts of Ms. Dhuhouk Al-Banwan and her dedication to ensuring the success of this project.
