The Director of the Security and Safety Department at Kuwait University, Yousef Al-Khamis, affirmed that the Department has completed its preparations for the start of the 2026–2027 academic year through a comprehensive plan aimed at providing a safe university environment and enhancing operational readiness at Sabah Al-Salem University City as students and University members return to campus.

He noted that these preparations are being carried out with the support and close follow-up of the University administration as part of its ongoing efforts to prepare campus facilities and services, ensuring an organized and safe start to the new academic year.

Al-Khamis explained that the Department is working to strengthen the University's security and safety system by enhancing operational readiness and maintaining coordination to facilitate the movement of students and University members across campus. The Department is also implementing the new student ID card for students, and increasing awareness and guidance messages to familiarize the University community with safety procedures, services, campus routes, and facilities, while reinforcing the principle of shared responsibility in maintaining the safety and security of the University community.

He added that the Department has developed comprehensive digital content strategy for its social media platforms covering the period from July to September 2026. The strategy aims to enhance awareness messages and expand their reach across the University community through modern, interactive content that transforms knowledge of security and safety procedures into everyday practices.

Al-Khamis explained that the strategy is built around four main categories: "Did You Know?", "Aman", "Bu Masar", and "Events and Achievements." The "Did You Know?" category presents security facts and practical guidance in a simple and accessible manner, while "Aman" focuses on digital safety by raising awareness of cyber fraud risks and promoting the protection of personal privacy and online accounts. The "Bu Masar" category serves as an interactive guide to safe navigation around campus, introducing students and University members to transportation services, campus routes, and facilities to help enhance both convenience and safety.

Al-Khamis further noted that the "Events and Achievements" category highlights the Department's initiatives, programs, workshops, partnerships, and accomplishments, in addition to seasonal content aligned with various occasions to strengthen engagement with the University community.

He emphasized that, with the support of the University administration, the Department is committed to utilizing modern communication tools to promote a culture of security and safety, enhance preventive awareness, strengthen the University's overall preparedness, and provide a safe and sustainable educational environment.
