The Security and Safety Department at Kuwait University, in collaboration with the General Fire Force, organized an awareness lecture on the proper use of handheld fire extinguishers and on combating minor fires. The initiative comes in preparation for the start of the new academic year 2025/2026 and aims to maintain the safety of the university community and its students. The lecture was attended by Acting Director of the Security and Safety Department, Mr. Ahmad Abdullah Al-Majed.

The lecture began with a theoretical presentation delivered by Lt. Col. Hamed Al-Murshid, Officer in the Public Relations Department – Awareness and Guidance Section at the General Fire Force. He discussed the main causes of ignition and highlighted the steps that security and that security personnel should follow in the event of a fire.

In this regard, Sergeant Faisal and Sergeant Othman, the Public Relations Department – Awareness and Guidance Section, conducted practical training for the Security and Safety Department staff. The training focused on the correct use of fire extinguishers to prevent minor fires resulting from technical errors or other causes.

In conclusion, Acting Director of the Security and Safety Department honored Lt. Col. Hamed Al-Murshid for his valuable contribution to the lecture, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety of the university campus. Lt. Col. Hamed Al-Murshid expressed his gratitude to the Security and Safety Department for organizing such awareness programs that enhance campus security.
