Kuwait University has concluded the activities of the Fifth Annual Scientific Conference for Outstanding High School Physics Students for the academic year 2025–2026, held under the theme “Space Sciences and Sustainable Development: A Kuwaiti Student Perspective” via the Microsoft Teams platform.
Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutawa, Vice President for Academic Support Services at Kuwait University and Head of the MILSET Asia organization, affirmed the success of the conference. He noted that the event brought together 104 male and female high school students, along with 26 physics teachers, 16 technical supervisors, and 7 science guidance inspectors, in addition to a distinguished group of academic staff members from the Department of Physics at the College of Science. This participation reflects ongoing efforts to support scientific talent and encourage engagement in scientific disciplines, in alignment with Kuwait University’s strategic pillars of sustainability, excellence, and innovation.
Dr. Al-Mutawa added that the conference featured interactive scientific sessions and workshops addressing applications of physics and space sciences and their role in promoting sustainable development. It also presented recommendations emphasizing the integration of physics concepts into school projects and their combination with artificial intelligence technologies.
He further explained that the conference introduced two notable initiatives: “A Free School Satellite” and “The Young Researcher Passport,” reflecting a commitment to empowering students to engage in hands-on scientific experiences that enhance their research and innovation skills.
He concluded by highlighting that participants praised the high academic standard demonstrated by the students and their innovative ideas, particularly in the fields of satellites and modern technologies, underscoring the importance of continued support for scientific initiatives to prepare a generation capable of keeping pace with future advancements.
