In Support of Output Quality and the Development of Analytical Skills
The Student Mathematics Club at the Department of Mathematics, College of Science, Kuwait University, concluded the second edition of the Integration Bee Competition, which witnessed remarkable attendance and active engagement—reflecting the university community’s strong interest in scientific activities that foster analytical thinking and academic skill development among students.
The preliminary rounds saw the participation of more than 60 students from various colleges, competing across several qualifying stages, from which only 12 students advanced to the main competition. The finalists then engaged in three concluding challenge rounds that required both speed and accuracy in solving integral problems.
Prof. Ismail Taqi, a faculty member in the department, expressed his pride in Kuwait University’s support for such initiatives, noting that competitions of this kind help highlight students’ talents and develop their scientific skills. He added that the large student turnout demonstrates the university community’s interest in purposeful activities that contribute to enhancing mathematical abilities.
The competition witnessed notable attendance from faculty members of the Mathematics and Physics Departments in the College of Science, who closely followed the proceedings, supervised the question standards, and ensured the accuracy of evaluation. Their presence added an elevated academic character to the event and reinforced the importance of the competition as a scientific activity that encourages students to excel and demonstrate their mathematical and analytical thinking skills.
The event concluded with honoring the winners of the top three positions:
First Place: Moayad Al-Jassem – Department of Physics, College of Science
Second Place: Ahmed Al-Kahedan – Department of Mathematics, College of Science
Third Place: Yara Haider – Department of Physics, College of Science
The Mathematics Club extended its sincere gratitude to the Chair of the Mathematics Department, Dr. Maryam Al-Kandari, as well as the members of the Mathematics and Physics Departments for their continuous support, presence, and encouragement of the students—contributions that played a significant role in the success of the event and its distinguished representation.
