Prof. Al-Mailem: Kuwait University Places Great Emphasis on Organizing the Administrative Work System and Simplifying Procedures through the Adoption of Digital Solutions and Modern Technologies
Under the patronage and in the presence of the Presidnt of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, Kuwait University—represented by the Institutional Innovation Section of the Office of the Vice President for Planning—organized a specialized training program entitled “Change Management”, in cooperation with Boubyan Bank. The program was held at Sabah Al-Salem University City during the period from 27 to 29 January 2026.
The organization of this program comes within the framework of Kuwait University’s keenness to develop the institutional work environment and enhance the efficiency of its human capital. The program was attended by the Acting Secretary-General of the University, Prof. Nourah Al-Suwaih, in addition to a number of university leaders and affiliates from various sectors.
Boubyan Bank was represented in the program by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Abdullah Al-Mehri; the General Manager of the Human Resources Group, Mr. Adel Al-Hamad; the Assistant General Manager for Change Management and Development, Mr. Abdullah Al-Hussainan; and the Director of Continuous Development, Ms. Maryam Dashti.
At the outset, the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, affirmed that the University continues to move forward with confidence toward digital transformation and the development of institutional work, within the framework of its strategic vision aimed at enhancing the efficiency of its academic and administrative staff and improving the quality of institutional performance in line with the requirements of sustainable development in the State of Kuwait. She noted that Kuwait University places great importance on modernizing the administrative work system and simplifying procedures through the adoption of digital solutions and modern technologies, which contribute to improving the work environment, accelerating the completion of transactions, and raising levels of productivity and institutional efficiency. She further emphasized that community partnerships represent a fundamental pillar in supporting institutional development pathways by strengthening cooperation with state institutions and both the public and private sectors, enabling the exchange of expertise and the support of developmental projects.
In turn, the Vice President of the University for Planning, Prof. Osama Al-Omair, indicated that cooperation with Boubyan Bank stems from the University’s emphasis on innovation and sustainability as key pillars of Kuwait University’s strategic plan, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the State’s vision. He pointed out that this cooperation reflects joint efforts to support institutional development in accordance with international best practices.
For her part, the Assistant Vice President of the University for Institutional Development, Dr. Dalal Al-Taweel, affirmed that such programs contribute to empowering national competencies and supporting their readiness to lead change within the University. She explained that institutional development is based on supporting decision-making through studies and analyses, developing systems and reengineering processes, documenting procedures, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation, and building strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving institutional excellence and sustainability.
Meanwhile, the Chief Operating Officer of Boubyan Bank, Mr. Abdullah Al-Mehri, expressed his pride and appreciation for the cooperation with Kuwait University, this distinguished academic institution renowned for the quality of its educational outcomes. He noted that the program falls within the framework of efforts to develop the institutional work environment, enhance staff efficiency, and advance various sectors.
In the same context, the Assistant General Manager for Change Management and Development at Boubyan Bank, Mr. Abdullah Al-Hussainan, delivered a visual presentation outlining the objectives of the program and the mechanisms for providing participants with knowledge and practical tools in change management and continuous improvement. This included process redesign, simplification of procedures, waste reduction, as well as concepts of institutional change leadership, building effective communication plans, addressing resistance to change, and measuring the impact of developmental initiatives.
A discussion session was subsequently opened, during which participants exchanged questions and views on best practices in leading institutional change and enhancing employee efficiency. This was supported by the presentation of a number of developmental initiatives and solutions proposed by University staff to improve the work environment.
The training program concluded with Boubyan Bank honoring the participating employees from various sectors of Kuwait University, in the presence of the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Abdullah Al-Mehri; the General Manager of the Human Resources Group, Mr. Adel Al-Hamad; and the Assistant General Manager for Change Management and Development, Mr. Abdullah Al-Hussainan, along with a number of Kuwait University leaders.
