
Prof. Mohammad Nazar, Acting Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences at Kuwait University, announced that the Department of Occupational Therapy has successfully renewed its academic accreditation from the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) through the year 2031. This achievement reflects the college’s steady commitment to advancing its academic programs, expanding its offered specializations, and continuously improving educational curricula.
Prof. Nazar emphasized the college’s ongoing development and the increasing number of highly qualified graduates annually. He also noted that the recent Scientific Poster Day event organized by the college demonstrated the dedication of both faculty members and students to innovation and excellence in medical education, all in service of the healthcare sector and in alignment with the needs of the labor market in our beloved homeland, the State of Kuwait, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah – may Allah protect him. He expressed his sincere wishes for continued success and progress across all fields.
For his part, Dr. Nasser Al-Otaibi, Acting Head of the Department of Occupational Therapy, expressed his pride in the department’s achievement in securing this prestigious accreditation. He described it as a significant educational milestone that elevates the academic standing of the College of Allied Health Sciences and Kuwait University at both regional and international levels.
Dr. Al-Otaibi extended his sincere gratitude to Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, President of Kuwait University, for her outstanding support and appreciation of the department’s efforts. He noted that this recognition further reinforces their sense of responsibility and commitment to excellence in research and education. He also thanked all faculty members in the department for their dedication and contributions in achieving this accreditation, wishing continued success to the students of the department.
He concluded by stating that this academic accomplishment will have a positive impact not only on the department but also on enhancing the quality of therapeutic services provided by occupational therapy graduates in the State of Kuwait.
