Prof. Dina Musaed Al Mailem: Kuwait University is committed to supporting the educational process and providing a stimulating environment for academic excellence.
On Wednesday morning, 28 January 2026, Kuwait University inaugurated two branches of the University Student Library at the College of Science and the College of Law in Sabah Al-Salem University City. The inauguration was attended by the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al Mailem, along with a number of academic and administrative leaders of the University. This initiative comes in support of developing the University’s supporting academic services and enhancing the educational environment.
On this occasion, the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al Mailem, affirmed that the opening of the two University Student Library branches aims to support students and facilitate their access to textbooks and academic references, thereby contributing to the provision of a university environment that encourages learning and academic excellence.
The inauguration of the two branches coincides with the organization of the textbook distribution process at the beginning of the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The northern site of the College of Law has been designated for the distribution of Arabic textbooks, while the northern site of the College of Science has been allocated for the distribution of foreign-language textbooks. In addition, a dedicated cashier lane has been provided for students with disabilities, a separate cashier lane for academic staff members, and four cashier lanes designated to serve all students. This is in accordance with an organizational mechanism aimed at facilitating procedures and regulating student flow.
In the context of supporting students with disabilities, the University Student Library has provided special facilities, including direct service, priority access, and expedited processing of transactions. A full 100% discount on textbooks is granted upon presentation of the university ID and disability ID, in addition to allocating a dedicated cashier to facilitate and accelerate the purchasing process. These measures aim to provide an organized and inclusive university environment that serves all categories of students.
